It’s a new era for Blue Line with several new songs and a handful of gigs under our belts with our new master of the skins, Jay Rocha!! Jay’s influence on our performance has been tremendous and we have grown as a band. At our performance on March 22, 2014 as a part of Bobapalooza at Penny Road pub, there was a band that didn’t show. We were asked to go on early and play longer. Of course we obliged! Who wouldn’t? We talked about our game plan and we knew we could spread things out and take some liberties with our own songs. Jay was right there, locked in with Mike on the bass while catching cues from Dan, Mike & Rick. As a team, we worked together to ensure we were all on the same page. It was glorious, good fun!! The single most important aspect about Jay, besides being a well-schooled drummer coming from a background that encompasses multiple genres of musical disciplines, is that he’s team oriented!
The paragraph above was written in March of this year saved as a draft and forgotten. Looking back on it and reflecting upon the experiences of half of a year with Jay, we are excited that he’s a part of the Blue Line family and look forward to the future!!
